The Angels' late surge began in the bottom of the eighth. Frazier's two-run double narrowed the gap to a single run, setting the stage for the dramatic finish. The pivotal moment arrived in the bottom of the ninth when Grissom launched a game-tying solo home run, forcing extra innings. After a scoreless tenth, the Angels secured the win in the eleventh when Moore delivered an infield single that scored Neto from third, sealing the comeback.

Ultimately, the Angels' persistence at the plate proved too much for the Twins to overcome, as Los Angeles chipped away at the deficit and delivered crucial hits in high-leverage situations. Following the win, the Angels improved their record to 60-95, while the Twins fell to 72-83.
