Seattle Mariners vs Colorado Rockies โ€” Recap

September 19, 2026  ยท Coors Field  ยท View Preview

๐Ÿ“ฐGame Recap

The Colorado Rockies rallied from a three-run deficit to secure a late-game victory over the favored Seattle Mariners, an outcome that defied both pregame market expectations and SportsFBI's analytical model. A decisive four-run outburst in the bottom of the seventh inning propelled Colorado ahead, stunning a Mariners squad that had held a comfortable lead for much of the contest.

Seattle initially took command, with Cal Raleigh launching a 459-foot, two-run home run to left-center in the top of the first inning, scoring Canzone. Arozarena added a solo shot in the third, pushing the Mariners' advantage to 3-0. Colorado broke through in the bottom of the third when McCarthy scored on a throwing error by right fielder Canzone after Norby's flyout, narrowing the gap to two runs.

The game remained 3-1 until the seventh inning, when the Rockies unleashed their rally. McCarthy grounded out to the pitcher, allowing Veen to score and tighten the score to 3-2. Rumfield then singled to center, bringing home Amador to tie the game at three runs apiece. The go-ahead blow came moments later as Carrigg singled to center, plating both Norby and Rumfield, giving Colorado a two-run lead they would not relinquish, despite an excellent start from Bryce Miller who pitched 5.1 scoreless innings.

The Rockies' resilience and their ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities in the seventh inning ultimately proved to be the difference, securing a hard-fought comeback win. Colorado's record now stands at 57-98, while Seattle falls to 72-83.
