๐Ÿ“ฐGame Recap

The Arizona Diamondbacks, entering the contest as favorites with a 55-51 record against the 44-61 Oakland Athletics, ultimately lived up to their billing in a dramatic 6-5 extra-inning victory. The game's turning point arrived early in the bottom of the first inning, when Max Kepler launched a 392-foot three-run home run to right center, scoring Ketel Marte and Gabriel Moreno and giving Arizona a quick 3-0 lead. Diamondbacks starter Kohl Drake delivered a strong performance, holding the Athletics in check with just one earned run allowed over five innings and striking out five.

Oakland managed to chip away at the lead in the top of the third inning, with Zack Williams singling to right field to score Esteury Butler, bringing the score to 3-1. However, the Diamondbacks extended their advantage in the bottom of the seventh. Ketel Marte hit a sacrifice fly to center, plating Geraldo Vargas and pushing Arizona's lead back to three runs at 4-1, seemingly putting the game out of reach for the Athletics.

Yet, the Athletics mounted a resilient comeback in the late innings. Shea Langeliers kickstarted their rally with a monstrous 444-foot solo home run to left center in the top of the eighth, cutting the deficit to 4-2. The drama intensified in the top of the ninth when Tyler Wilson connected for a 394-foot two-run homer to left field, scoring Kevin Walton and stunningly tying the game at 4-4, forcing extra innings.

The tension escalated further in the tenth inning. Oakland took their first lead of the night when Jonah Heim hit a sacrifice fly to center, bringing home Tyler Soderstrom and making it 5-4. But the Diamondbacks refused to yield. In the bottom of the tenth, Nolan Arenado singled to center, scoring Corbin Carroll to tie the game at 5-5. Moments later, Geraldo Vargas delivered the decisive blow, singling to left field to bring home Gabriel Moreno, securing a thrilling 6-5 walk-off victory for the Diamondbacks.
