πŸ“°Game Recap

San Francisco staged a persistent comeback, ultimately defeating the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-6 in 12 innings after repeatedly erasing deficits throughout the game, including a late rally in the 10th frame.

Pittsburgh initially seized control, as Gonzales singled home the first run in the top of the first inning, followed by Griffin's 413-foot solo home run in the second to make it 2-0. The Giants began to chip away when Arraez drove in a run with a single in the third. Heliot Ramos then knotted the score in the fourth with a 437-foot home run to left-center. The Pirates responded again, taking a 3-2 lead on Cruz's fifth-inning blast and extending it to 4-2 in the sixth courtesy of Horwitz's double. However, San Francisco immediately battled back, with Ramos's double and Chapman's subsequent double tying the contest once more at 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth.

The game remained deadlocked into extra innings, setting the stage for a tense finish. Pittsburgh appeared poised to pull away in the top of the 10th when Horwitz delivered his second double of the game, scoring two and pushing the Pirates ahead 6-4. Yet, San Francisco demonstrated its resolve in the bottom half. After loading the bases, Adames hit a single to left, plating Arraez and Koss to tie the game once more. Heliot Ramos, who had already homered and doubled earlier, was a consistent threat for the Giants, scoring three runs in total, including the decisive run in the 12th.

Ultimately, the Giants' persistent offense and ability to deliver crucial hits in high-leverage situations proved too much for Pittsburgh. In the bottom of the 12th, J. RodrΓguez singled to right field, bringing Ramos home to complete the dramatic victory. The San Francisco Giants improved their record to 52-73, while the Pittsburgh Pirates fell to 61-66.
