πŸ“°Game Recap

The Detroit Tigers wrestled away a 6-3 victory from the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday, building an early lead, seeing it erased, then scoring three unanswered runs in the late innings to secure the win.

Detroit initially jumped ahead in the second inning. Lee's triple to right field brought home PΓ©rez, initiating the scoring. Shortly after, Vierling doubled to center, scoring Lee and Short on a fielding error by center fielder Isbel, giving the Tigers a 3-0 advantage. However, the Royals began to chip away in the third, as Pasquantino singled to left to score Garcia. Jensen followed with a sacrifice fly to right, bringing home Witt Jr. to cut the deficit to one. Kansas City completed its comeback in the fourth when Garcia singled to center, allowing Caglianone to score and tie the game at 3-3.

Despite Kansas City's rally, Detroit quickly regained control. Gage Workman delivered a crucial two-run home run to right field in the sixth inning, driving in Torkelson and putting the Tigers back on top, 5-3. That decisive blast broke the tie. An insurance run came in the seventh when PΓ©rez singled to center, scoring Greene and extending Detroit's lead to 6-3.

The Tigers' resilience was evident as they responded to the Royals' comeback by creating and holding a lead in the later frames. Their ability to generate offense after the game was tied ultimately proved the difference. Detroit improved its record to 61-64, while Kansas City dropped to 51-75.
