Arizona Diamondbacks vs San Francisco Giants — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Arizona Diamondbacks overcame an early two-run deficit to secure a narrow 3-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants. After falling behind in the third inning, Arizona methodically chipped away at the lead, scoring three unanswered runs in the middle innings to claim the decisive run.

San Francisco initially seized the momentum in the bottom of the third. Luis Arraez singled to center field, driving in both Gilbert and Adames to give the Giants a 2-0 advantage. However, the Diamondbacks began their response in the sixth inning when Del Castillo singled to left, bringing Carroll home and halving the deficit. Later in the same frame, Vargas hit a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Perdomo to score the tying run.

Then the turning point arrived in the top of the seventh inning, as Arizona completed its comeback. Perdomo delivered a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Troy and giving the Diamondbacks their first lead of the contest. Giants starter Trevor McDonald delivered a solid performance, surrendering just two earned runs over 6.1 innings with six strikeouts, but the offense behind him ultimately could not add to the early lead.

Arizona's resilient offense and ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities in crucial moments proved to be the difference. They converted their chances to score, securing the lead they would not relinquish. The Diamondbacks now stand at 67-61, while the Giants hold a 51-75 record.
