Cleveland Guardians vs San Francisco Giants — Recap

📰Game Recap

The San Francisco Giants defeated the Cleveland Guardians 10-7, prevailing in a hard-fought contest despite Cleveland's explosive five-run sixth inning, which featured a dominant performance from Travis Bazzana.

San Francisco established an early lead with a steady offensive effort, while starting pitcher Robbie Ray delivered a strong outing, limiting Cleveland to just one earned run over five innings. However, the Guardians mounted a fierce rally in the sixth. Bazzana spearheaded Cleveland’s charge, hitting two home runs and driving in all five runs during their largest scoring inning of the game, temporarily shifting momentum in favor of the visitors.

Despite Bazzana's explosive sixth-inning performance, which saw him single-handedly account for all five runs scored by Cleveland in that frame, the Giants' offense proved relentless. They consistently found ways to score, ensuring Bazzana’s career day would not be enough to overcome their persistent attack. Ray’s early efforts provided a stable foundation, keeping the game within reach before Cleveland’s bats came alive.

Ultimately, San Francisco’s sustained hitting attack and ability to answer Cleveland’s biggest threats allowed them to close out the game. The Giants move to 52-73 on the season, while the Guardians fall to 60-66.
