Colorado Rockies vs Los Angeles Dodgers — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Los Angeles Dodgers erased a two-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring four runs to snatch a late victory from the Colorado Rockies. The dramatic rally secured a comeback win at home.

The Dodgers initially broke the scoreless tie in the third inning when E. Hernández doubled to left, bringing home Kim. However, the Rockies quickly responded in the fourth. Castro singled to right, scoring Freeman and moving Johnston to third, before Ezequiel Tovar's sacrifice fly to left allowed Johnston to cross the plate, putting Colorado ahead. Tovar then extended the lead in the top of the seventh with a 431-foot solo home run to center field, giving the Rockies a 3-1 advantage.

Facing a two-run deficit, the Dodgers' offense exploded in their half of the seventh. After a successful challenge overturned a call at first base, Shohei Ohtani grounded into a force out, allowing Will Smith to score. Mookie Betts followed with a sacrifice fly to left, tying the game as Kim scored. The rally continued as Freeman doubled to right, driving in Ohtani for the go-ahead run. Pages then singled to center, bringing home Freeman to cap the four-run outburst, which proved decisive. Dodgers starter Emmet Sheehan had kept his team in the game, striking out eight batters and allowing only two earned runs over six innings.

The Dodgers ultimately showcased their offensive depth and resilience, proving capable of a late-game surge after being held in check for much of the contest. Despite Ezequiel Tovar's strong individual effort for Colorado, the Rockies' lead evaporated in the face of Los Angeles's powerful lineup. The Dodgers improved to 77-51, while the Rockies fell to 50-77.
