Los Angeles Dodgers vs Milwaukee Brewers — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Los Angeles Dodgers overcame an early deficit to secure a 5-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers, propelled by a decisive four-run fifth inning and a strong performance from starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

Milwaukee initially drew first blood in the bottom of the second inning when Frelick grounded into a fielder's choice, bringing home Bauers. The Dodgers responded in the fourth inning, evening the score as T. Hernández capitalized on a wild pitch from Sproat to cross the plate. The pivotal moment arrived in the top of the fifth inning, beginning with Tucker's triple to right field that scored both Betts and Freeman.

Los Angeles continued its offensive surge in that crucial fifth inning when Andy Pages homered 380 feet to left, driving in Tucker and extending the lead to 5-1. This explosive frame provided ample support for Yamamoto, who held the Brewers' offense in check for seven innings, surrendering just one earned run while striking out three batters.

Ultimately, the Dodgers' combination of timely hitting in the middle innings, particularly their impactful fifth, and a dominant outing from Yamamoto proved to be the difference. The victory improved Los Angeles' record to 75-51, while Milwaukee's record now stands at 77-49.
