Game Recap
The Miami Marlins secured a convincing victory over the San Francisco Giants, powered by an early offensive outburst that saw them score eight unanswered runs through the first four innings.
Miami wasted no time getting on the board. Edwards doubled home Marsee in the opening frame, immediately followed by Hicks' two-run blast to right-center field. The scoring continued into the second inning when Pauley's single plated Caissie, and Hicks added another RBI with a sacrifice fly in the third. The Marlins blew the game open further in the fourth, courtesy of Connor Norby's three-run homer.
The Marlins' aggressive start, highlighted by their three-run first inning and Norby's later three-run shot, established an insurmountable lead that the Giants could not overcome. While San Francisco mounted a rally in the fifth with three runs, including RBI hits from Gilbert, Haase, and Arraez, the eight-run deficit proved too steep. Miami then padded their lead again in the sixth with Lopez's RBI single, effectively negating the Giants' mid-game efforts.
Ultimately, Miami's sustained offensive pressure from the start, combined with a steady outing from starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara, who limited the Giants to three earned runs over six innings, set the tone for their comfortable win. The Marlins improved their record to 65-62, while the Giants fell to 51-74.
