Minnesota Twins vs Tampa Bay Rays — Recap

📰Game Recap

Junior Caminero's two home runs and Jonathan Aranda's pair of solo shots propelled the Tampa Bay Rays to a 6-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins. Drew Rasmussen delivered a strong outing on the mound, limiting the Twins offense and allowing the Rays' power surge to dictate the game.

Tampa Bay initiated their scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Caminero launched a solo home run to center field. Isaac Paredes extended the lead in the third after Simpson grounded out to first, allowing Fortes to score. Aranda then added his first solo homer in the fourth. The Twins briefly cut into the deficit with a solo shot from Lee in the top of the fifth, but Aranda responded with his second solo blast in the sixth, pushing the lead back to three runs.

The Rays solidified their advantage in the seventh inning as Caminero connected for his second homer, a two-run shot to center that also scored Simpson, stretching the lead to 6-1. That decisive blast, coupled with Aranda's earlier contributions, provided more than enough cushion. Rasmussen was key in preventing Minnesota from mounting any significant threat, scattering just one earned run over six innings while striking out six.

Despite a solo home run from Lewis in the ninth inning, the Twins could not overcome the consistent power display from Tampa Bay's lineup and the effective pitching. The Rays improved their record to 75-49, while the Twins fell to 60-66.
