San Francisco Giants vs Arizona Diamondbacks — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Arizona Diamondbacks staged a dramatic comeback victory over the San Francisco Giants, overcoming an early two-run deficit with a decisive four-run rally in the final inning. Ketel Marte's three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth proved to be the pivotal swing, securing a hard-fought win for the home team.

The Diamondbacks initially took a lead in the first inning when Carroll tripled to center and subsequently scored on a throwing error by second baseman Arraez. San Francisco quickly answered back in the top of the second, with Devers launching a 441-foot solo homer to center, followed by Adames connecting for another solo shot to left. Susac then doubled to center, driving in Chapman and extending the Giants' lead to 3-1. That lead held for much of the contest, as Giants pitcher Landen Roupp delivered a strong performance through six innings, allowing just one earned run.

Arizona's offense, however, found its rhythm in the bottom of the ninth. After Vargas reached base, Del Castillo singled to center, bringing him home and narrowing the deficit to 3-2. With runners on base, Ketel Marte stepped to the plate and blasted a 391-foot home run to left field, scoring Fernandez and Waldschmidt ahead of him. This electrifying three-run shot completed the four-run outburst in the inning, turning a one-run deficit into a 5-3 lead for the Diamondbacks.

The Diamondbacks' resilience and potent ninth-inning offense ultimately decided the contest, as they proved capable of delivering a game-changing burst when it mattered most. Their ability to capitalize on late-game opportunities secured a crucial victory. Arizona now stands at 67-60, while San Francisco falls to 51-74.
