New York Jets vs Tennessee Titans — Recap

📰Game Recap

The New York Jets opened their season with a commanding road victory, stifling the Tennessee Titans' offense and relying on a powerful ground game to build an insurmountable lead. New York consistently put points on the board, controlling the tempo and denying the home team any offensive rhythm throughout the contest.

Kenyon Sadiq put the Jets on the scoreboard first in the opening quarter with a 3-yard rushing touchdown. The Titans managed to respond with a Joey Slye 42-yard field goal, trimming the deficit. In the second quarter, Jason Sanders extended New York's advantage with a 33-yard field goal, giving the visitors a 10-3 lead at halftime.

The turning point arrived in the third quarter when the Jets pulled away with 10 unanswered points, effectively sealing the game. Breece Hall broke through for a 4-yard rushing touchdown, complementing his strong performance of 102 yards on 22 carries, before Jason Sanders added a 51-yard field goal. New York continued to build its lead into the final period, with Sanders hitting another 52-yard field goal. Tennessee finally found the end zone late in the fourth quarter when Elic Ayomanor caught an 11-yard pass from Cam Ward, but it was too little, too late. Geno Smith provided efficient passing for the Jets, completing 19 of 24 attempts for 215 yards, while the defense largely kept the Titans at bay.

Ultimately, the New York Jets' disciplined execution on both sides of the ball, particularly their ability to run the football and limit the Titans' offense, secured a convincing season-opening triumph. The Jets begin their campaign 1-0, while the Tennessee Titans fall to 0-1.
