Boston wasted no time making their presence felt at Dodger Stadium, breaking the scoreless tie in the top of the second inning when Duran singled to center, bringing Durbin home. An inning later, the Red Sox extended their lead to 3-0 as Rafaela and Sogard scored on a fielding error by Dodgers first baseman Freeman. Pitching for the Red Sox, Brayan Bello was a standout, tossing 4.0 scoreless innings and striking out three, keeping the powerful Dodgers offense at bay in the early going.

Alfonzo's single scored Tucker, and after a challenge upheld the call on the field, Shohei Ohtani launched a 386-foot home run to right field, bringing Alfonzo home and flipping the script to give Los Angeles a 4-3 lead.

The crucial turning point arrived in the top of the seventh inning, as the Red Sox unleashed a five-run explosion that irrevocably shifted the momentum back in their favor. Ceddanne Rafaela ignited the rally with a towering 405-foot home run to left, scoring Sogard and putting Boston back on top 5-4. The scoring continued unabated; Monasterio doubled to left, driving in Abreu and Yoshida. Later in the frame, Duran grounded out to the pitcher, but it was enough to score Durbin, extending Boston's lead to 8-4 and effectively putting the game out of reach for the Dodgers.

Ceddanne Rafaela was at the heart of Boston's offensive surge, delivering the top batting performance of the game with three hits, including his pivotal home run, two RBI, and two runs scored. The Red Sox added an insurance run in the top of the ninth when Narváez hit a sacrifice fly to center, allowing Jones to score and solidify the final score at 9-4, capping off an impressive road upset.
