New York Yankees vs Chicago Cubs — Recap

📰Game Recap

The New York Yankees secured a tight victory over the Chicago Cubs, silencing the favored home team with a 2-0 shutout at Wrigley Field. Two solo home runs accounted for all the scoring, backing a dominant performance from right-hander Will Warren.

The game remained a scoreless battle until the fourth inning when Amed Rosario broke the deadlock. His 450-foot blast to center field put the Yankees on the board. An inning later, Jones added an insurance run, launching a 418-foot shot to right center, extending New York's lead to two runs.

The decisive factor in the low-scoring affair was the Yankees' pitching, highlighted by Will Warren's stellar outing. Warren stifled the Cubs' offense, allowing no runs across 6 2/3 innings while striking out seven batters. His command kept Chicago's hitters off balance throughout his start, ensuring the two solo shots were more than enough support. Rosario's long home run initiated the scoring, giving New York a lead it would not relinquish.

Ultimately, the Yankees prevailed by combining exceptional pitching with just enough power to overcome the favored Cubs on their home turf. New York moves to 63-48 on the season, while Chicago falls to 62-49.
