πŸ“°Game Recap

The Seattle Mariners broke a late tie with a three-run seventh inning and then held off a determined Chicago White Sox rally to secure a narrow victory. Seattle's offense generated just enough timely hitting, while their bullpen navigated late threats.

The game remained tight through the early innings, with both teams trading blows. Seattle first got on the board in the second when Canzone doubled home Arozarena. Chicago quickly answered in the top of the third with a Benintendi single, bringing home Antonacci. The Mariners again edged ahead in the fourth on a Wisdom double that scored Arozarena, only for Murakami to tie it for the White Sox in the fifth with an RBI single.

The decisive blow came in the bottom of the seventh. Pereda led off the inning with a solo home run to put Seattle back in front. Later in the frame, Randy Arozarena delivered a two-run blast, extending the lead to 5-2 after RodrΓguez had reached base. Arozarena's timely power provided critical breathing room for the Mariners. The White Sox mounted a comeback attempt in the eighth, scoring a run when Meidroth came home on a throwing error during a Peters fielder's choice. Grichuk then cut the deficit to a single run with a solo homer in the ninth, but the rally stalled there.

Seattle ultimately prevailed due to their clutch hitting in the seventh inning, which provided a lead just large enough to withstand Chicago's late-game surge. The Mariners moved to 60-66 on the season, while the White Sox fell to 65-59.
