Colorado Rockies vs Arizona Diamondbacks — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Colorado Rockies secured a comeback road victory, rallying from an early two-run deficit to defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2. Colorado chipped away at Arizona's lead in the middle innings before ultimately taking control with late-game scoring.

Arizona built its initial lead through Lourdes Gurriel Jr.'s bat. Gurriel Jr. started the scoring with a sacrifice fly to center in the bottom of the second, bringing Arenado home. He extended the Diamondbacks' advantage to 2-0 in the fourth inning, singling to left field to score Perdomo. Colorado responded in the fifth when McCarthy hit a sacrifice fly to right, allowing Castro to cross the plate and cut the deficit to one.

Despite a strong outing from Arizona's Michael Soroka, who surrendered just one earned run over six innings, the Rockies found their rhythm against the bullpen. Colorado tied the game in the eighth inning courtesy of a Rumfield double to right, which scored Goodman. The decisive blow came in the top of the ninth when Stevens singled to right, plating S. Thompson and giving Colorado its first lead of the afternoon.

Ultimately, the Rockies' persistent offense overcame the Diamondbacks' early advantage and solid starting pitching, demonstrating resilience to secure a narrow road win. Following the contest, Colorado improved to 51-75, while Arizona fell to 66-61.
