Seattle Mariners vs Kansas City Royals — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Seattle Mariners secured a tight 2-0 victory over the Kansas City Royals, breaking a scoreless tie in the seventh inning with a single swing that accounted for all the game’s runs.

The game remained a tense, scoreless deadlock through the first six innings, a testament to strong pitching on both sides. Both offenses struggled to generate consistent threats, setting the stage for a dramatic late-game breakthrough.

Mitch Garver delivered the decisive blow for the Mariners in the top of the seventh, launching a 406-foot home run to left field that also brought Young across the plate. This two-run shot stood as the game's only offense. While Kansas City's Noah Cameron turned in an outstanding performance, striking out eight batters over six shutout innings, the Royals' bullpen was unable to hold the line, ultimately allowing the critical runs after Cameron's departure.

Seattle's late-game power proved to be the difference, capitalizing on the opportunity to push runs across in a contest dominated by pitching for much of the afternoon. The Mariners now stand at 60-66, while the Royals' record falls to 51-75.
