The Arizona Diamondbacks secured a narrow 5-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies, fending off a persistent comeback bid fueled by late-game heroics. Arizona built an early advantage, then held on as Colorado chipped away at the lead through the middle and late innings, ultimately falling short of a tying run.

Arizona took control in the bottom of the third inning when Perdomo singled home Waldschmidt for the first run, followed by Arenado's two-run double that scored Perdomo and Marte, giving the Diamondbacks a 3-0 lead. The Rockies responded in the top of the fourth with two runs, first on Johnston's RBI single that brought home Goodman, then Rumfield scored on Tovar's fielder's choice. However, Ketel Marte immediately countered in the bottom of the frame with a 424-foot two-run home run to right field, also scoring Tawa, pushing Arizona's lead to 5-2.

The Diamondbacks' early offensive burst, particularly their three-run third inning and Ketel Marte's timely two-run blast, provided the crucial cushion needed to withstand Colorado's rally. Marte delivered an exceptional performance overall, collecting three hits, two RBI, and scoring two runs, directly contributing to the decisive margin. Despite Zac Gallen allowing three earned runs over 5.1 innings, his six strikeouts helped maintain Arizona's advantage through the bulk of the game as the Rockies kept fighting to get back into it.

Colorado continued to threaten, with S. Thompson's groundout scoring Johnston in the sixth inning and Rumfield’s 410-foot solo home run in the eighth bringing the Rockies within one run, but they could never pull even or take the lead. The Diamondbacks' initial offensive surge and ability to hold off Colorado's relentless late push proved to be the difference. Following the win, Arizona moved to 67-60, while the Rockies fell to 50-76.
