Arizona Diamondbacks vs Seattle Mariners — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Seattle Mariners outlasted the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-6 in 10 innings on Wednesday, fending off multiple comeback attempts before Arozarena delivered the walk-off double. J.P. Crawford’s offensive heroics, including two home runs, helped the Mariners build early leads and ultimately score the winning run, securing a hard-fought victory at home.

Seattle initially took control with Crawford’s solo shot in the first inning, followed by Rodríguez’s two-run homer in the third to extend the lead. Arizona responded with Perdomo’s solo blast in the fourth, but Crawford struck again with another home run in the fifth, bringing home Pereda and pushing the Mariners ahead 5-1. The Diamondbacks then exploded for four runs in the sixth, sparked by Moreno’s two-run double, to draw even at 5-5. However, Raley quickly regained the lead for Seattle with a solo home run in the bottom of that same inning.

Arizona's four-run rally in the sixth, which tied the game, seemed poised to shift momentum. Yet, Raley's immediate solo homer ensured Seattle maintained its advantage, effectively neutralizing the Diamondbacks' biggest scoring frame. Crawford proved instrumental throughout the contest, contributing to Seattle's scoring in the first, third, and fifth innings, and later scoring the winning run in the tenth to cap his dominant performance. The Diamondbacks forced extra innings when Vargas grounded into a fielder's choice in the top of the ninth, bringing home Perdomo to tie the score once more.

Ultimately, Seattle’s persistent ability to answer Arizona’s rallies proved decisive, culminating in Arozarena's game-winning hit in the tenth frame. The Mariners now stand at 60-66, while the Diamondbacks’ record moved to 66-60.
