Atlanta Braves vs Philadelphia Phillies — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Atlanta Braves secured a 3-1 road victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday, powered by a decisive three-run third inning and a masterful performance from starting pitcher Chris Sale.

Philadelphia initially seized the lead in the bottom of the second inning when Felix Reyes connected for a solo home run to right field. Atlanta quickly responded in the top of the third. With the bases loaded, Riley reached on an infield single to the pitcher, allowing Baldwin to score the tying run. Two batters later, Dubón singled to center, driving in both Albies and Olson to put the Braves ahead 3-1.

That three-run frame in the third inning proved to be the turning point for the Braves. After surrendering the initial run, Atlanta's offense immediately delivered the critical blows needed to take control. On the mound, Chris Sale delivered a dominant outing, fanning seven batters and allowing only the single earned run through seven strong innings. His ability to stifle the Phillies' offense after the early homer ensured the narrow lead held.

Ultimately, Atlanta's combination of timely hitting in the third inning and Sale's exceptional control throughout the majority of the game secured the win. This victory improves the Braves' record to 75-51, while the Phillies now stand at 68-59.
