๐Ÿ“ฐGame Recap

Chicago secured a narrow victory over Kansas City, holding off a late-inning rally fueled by a two-run homer from Bobby Witt Jr. The White Sox built an early lead, saw it erased, and then re-established their advantage in the middle innings, ultimately prevailing by a single run.

The White Sox opened the scoring in the second inning when Peters doubled to drive in Kelenic, then scored himself on a fielding error. An inning later, Meidroth's sacrifice fly extended Chicago's lead to 3-0. Kansas City responded in the fourth, getting on the board with Loftin's sacrifice fly before Pasquantino singled to center, scoring Witt Jr. and Thomas to tie the game at three apiece.

Chicago quickly reclaimed momentum in the fifth, as Kelenic's double brought home Benintendi and Montgomery, pushing the White Sox ahead 5-3. Montgomery added a solo home run in the seventh inning, stretching the lead to three runs. While Bobby Witt Jr.'s two-run blast in the top of the ninth inning narrowed the gap to a single run, the Royals could not complete the comeback despite their largest scoring inning being the three runs that tied the game earlier.

The White Sox ultimately triumphed by successfully responding to Kansas City's attempts to seize control, manufacturing runs in crucial spots after their initial lead was erased. Their ability to immediately answer the Royals' tying rally and then add an insurance run proved decisive. The White Sox improved to 66-58, while the Royals fell to 51-75.
