San Diego Padres vs Milwaukee Brewers — Recap

📰Game Recap

The San Diego Padres completed a dramatic ninth-inning comeback to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers 3-1, scoring all of their runs in the final frame after being held scoreless through eight innings.

Milwaukee initially took the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Brice Turang grounded into a fielder's choice to first base, allowing Sal Frelick to score and give the Brewers a narrow 1-0 advantage. That single run held up for much of the contest as both offenses struggled to generate further scoring opportunities.

Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski delivered a masterful performance, stifling the Padres lineup through seven dominant innings. Misiorowski struck out ten batters and allowed no earned runs, exiting the game with his team holding a one-run lead. However, the Padres finally broke through in the ninth inning. Gavin Sheets launched a three-run home run to right center field, a 389-foot blast that drove in Johnson and Bogaerts to suddenly put San Diego ahead. This crucial homer accounted for all of the Padres' scoring, completely flipping the script in the game's final moments.

The Padres' late-game heroics ultimately negated a stellar pitching effort by Misiorowski, showcasing their ability to capitalize on opportunities when it mattered most. San Diego now holds a 68-58 record, while Milwaukee's record moves to 77-49.
