New York Yankees vs Baltimore Orioles — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Baltimore Orioles delivered a dominant performance, shutting out the New York Yankees 7-0 on Wednesday. Pitcher Kyle Bradish stifled the Yankees' offense through six scoreless innings, while Adley Rutschman's three runs batted in, including a two-run homer, spearheaded Baltimore's attack.

The Orioles methodically built their lead, beginning with Ryan Mountcastle's RBI double in the bottom of the second inning, bringing Taveras home. They extended their advantage in the third when Rutschman's sacrifice fly scored Alexander, followed by a Ward score on Alonso's RBI single. Baltimore continued to pull away in the fifth, as Rutschman blasted a 393-foot two-run home run to right center, again bringing Alexander around.

The decisive factor in the game was the Yankees' inability to generate any offense against Bradish and the Orioles' bullpen. Bradish set the tone by scattering just a few hits and striking out seven over his six frames. Meanwhile, Baltimore consistently found ways to score, with Alexander's two-run single in the sixth, which plated Mayo and O'Neill, putting the game firmly out of reach and sealing the scoring for the night.

Ultimately, a combination of stellar pitching and timely, spread-out hitting allowed the Orioles to control the game from start to finish, never allowing New York to threaten. The Orioles improved their record to 62-63, while the Yankees dropped to 69-56.
