Cleveland methodically built an early lead and effectively held off Los Angeles, as a strong pitching performance and timely hitting secured a two-run victory. The Guardians never trailed, establishing their advantage in the first inning and responding to the Angels' only scoring threat to maintain control throughout the game.

The Guardians opened the scoring quickly when Martínez launched a 378-foot solo home run to left field in the bottom of the first inning. Later in the same frame, Fry's groundout plated Ramírez, extending Cleveland's lead to two. Two innings later, DeLauter added another run with a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Martínez and pushing the advantage to 3-0.

Los Angeles finally broke through in the fifth inning on Zach Neto's 361-foot, two-run homer to left that also brought home Peraza, cutting the deficit to one. However, Cleveland quickly answered in the bottom of the sixth. Schneemann singled to center field, driving in Hoskins and re-establishing a two-run cushion. Parker Messick was instrumental in holding the Angels' offense at bay, working 6.2 innings while striking out seven and allowing just two earned runs.

Ultimately, the Guardians' ability to generate offense across multiple innings and Messick's steady command on the mound were too much for the Angels to overcome. Cleveland prevailed by consistently responding to Los Angeles's brief offensive surge, never relinquishing their lead. The Guardians now stand at 61-65, while the Angels fall to 49-77.
