πŸ“°Game Recap

The San Francisco Giants, entering the game as the favored team, lived up to expectations with a dramatic 7-6 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Angels in a tightly contested affair. While the Angels initially grabbed the lead when Schanuel singled home Neto in the top of the first inning, San Francisco quickly responded to seize control. Rafael Devers launched a 362-foot homer to left, scoring Eldridge and giving the Giants a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first. Two innings later, Patrick Schmitt widened the gap considerably with a 412-foot blast of his own, scoring Eldridge and Devers to put the Giants up 5-1.

The Angels, however, refused to fold, mounting a significant comeback in the fifth inning that proved to be the game's turning point. Heineman's triple to right brought Adell and Guzman home, followed by a Mike Trout sacrifice fly that scored Heineman, cutting the Giants' lead to a single run at 5-4. Giants starter Logan Webb pitched through these rally attempts, ultimately finishing his outing with 6.0 innings, four strikeouts, and allowing four earned runs. San Francisco managed to create some breathing room in the bottom of the seventh when Susac's sacrifice fly scored McCray, pushing their advantage to 6-4.

But the back-and-forth battle continued into the late innings. The Angels leveled the score in the eighth when Grissom connected for a two-run, 381-foot homer to left, bringing Soler home and knotting the game at 6-6. With neither team able to break the tie in regulation, the contest headed to extra innings. It was Rafael Devers who would ultimately play hero again for the Giants, delivering a walk-off single to left in the bottom of the tenth, scoring J. RodrΓguez and securing the 7-6 win. Devers capped off an outstanding performance, finishing with two hits, including his earlier home run, three RBI, and two runs scored to lead San Francisco to victory.
