The decisive blow came in the top of the fourth inning, which proved to be the game's turning point. Soler continued his impactful night by launching a 419-foot solo home run to center field, extending the Angels' lead to 2-0. Shortly after, Adell blasted a 446-foot shot to center, also a homer, bringing Schanuel home and capping off a three-run inning that put the Angels comfortably ahead 4-0. This offensive surge was supported by a dominant performance from Angels starter Jose Soriano, who stifled the Giants through five innings, striking out five and allowing no earned runs.

San Francisco finally managed to scratch across a run in the bottom of the fifth. Arraez grounded into a fielder's choice, and Adames scored on a throwing error by Angels shortstop Neto, cutting the deficit to 4-1. The Giants then mounted a tense ninth-inning rally, as Arraez delivered a crucial double to right field that brought home both Cavanaugh and Adames, bringing San Francisco within a single run.

Despite the late-game heroics from Arraez, who contributed significantly to both of the Giants' earned runs, the Angels' pitching staff managed to close out the game, preserving their hard-fought 4-3 victory. Soler's big night, highlighted by his home run and two RBI, coupled with Soriano's lights-out start, ultimately proved enough for the underdog Angels to spoil the Giants' night.
