The Seattle Mariners pulled off an upset on Saturday, overcoming the favored Texas Rangers with a 6-4 victory. Despite entering the game with a 52-55 record against the Rangers' 54-52, Seattle fought back after falling behind early. The Rangers initially took the lead in the first inning, as Duran's sacrifice fly brought Pederson home. Texas extended their advantage in the fourth inning, with Carter singling home Nimmo and Lopez adding another run via an infield single, giving the Rangers a 3-1 lead. Despite a solid performance from Jacob deGrom, who pitched 5.0 innings for Texas, striking out four and allowing only one earned run, the Mariners found their stride later in the game.

The turning point dramatically unfolded in the seventh inning, where the Mariners erupted for four runs to take control. Dominic Canzone was at the heart of the rally, launching a 400-foot three-run homer to right field that scored Emerson and Young, putting Seattle ahead 4-3. Arozarena then followed with a 400-foot solo shot to right center, further extending the Mariners' lead to 5-3. While Duran cut the deficit to one with a 420-foot solo homer for Texas in the bottom of the eighth, Canzone wasn't done, hitting a crucial double to right in the top of the ninth that scored Rodríguez, securing the 6-4 final score. Canzone was a standout performer, finishing with three hits, including the decisive home run and a double, accounting for four RBIs and scoring a run himself.
