The Cleveland Guardians, entering the contest as a slight underdog against the favored Minnesota Twins, delivered a powerful performance on their home turf, ultimately securing a dominant 13-4 victory. The turning point came early in the first inning when the Guardians immediately set the tone. Jose Rocchio launched a 383-foot homer to right, bringing home Bazzana, and shortly after, Hoskins added a 401-foot solo shot to left. Just like that, Cleveland had a 3-0 lead, a deficit the Twins would struggle to overcome all night.

Minnesota attempted to answer in the second inning, as Lee's triple scored Lewis, followed by Roden's sacrifice fly that brought Lee home, narrowing the gap to a manageable 3-2. However, the Guardians quickly extinguished any hopes of a Twins rally, unleashing another offensive barrage in the bottom of the second. Petey Halpin, who would have an unforgettable night, started the fresh wave of scoring with a 411-foot blast to right center, bringing Bailey home. Bazzana then added his own 385-foot shot to right center, pushing Cleveland’s lead to a comfortable 6-2.

The Guardians’ power display continued to keep the Twins at bay, as Hoskins hit his second homer of the game in the third inning, a 398-foot shot to left. Halpin then showcased his own multi-homer performance, launching his second long ball of the night in the fourth, a 396-foot drive to center, further extending Cleveland's advantage. While Tanner Bibee delivered a strong outing for the Guardians, striking out five over six innings and allowing only two earned runs, the Cleveland offense continued to pile on with a Bailey single in the fifth and a DeLauter single in the sixth, making it 10-2.

Even a late seventh-inning RBI single from Larnach for the Twins couldn't stem the tide of Cleveland's relentless scoring. The Guardians responded immediately with Bailey's 408-foot homer to center and a two-run double from DeLauter that scored Halpin and Manzardo, pushing the lead to an insurmountable 13-3. The Twins managed one final run in the eighth on a Caratini double, but it was too little, too late. Petey Halpin's stellar three-hit performance, which included two home runs, three RBIs, and three runs scored, was a fitting highlight in the Guardians' comprehensive upset victory.
